Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

  • Matriculation/SSLC + ITI Certificate in trades like Electrician, Fitter, or Mechanic OR
  • Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile Engineering (3 years).
  • Engineering graduates in relevant fields are also eligible.

2. Age Limit (as of 1 July 2025)

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age:
    • General/EWS: 30 years
    • OBC: 33 years
    • SC/ST: 35 years
    • PwD: Additional 10-year relaxation

Selection Process

The recruitment involves a rigorous five-stage process:

  1. CBT 1: Screening test with 75 questions (60 minutes) on Mathematics, Reasoning, General Science, and Current Affairs. Negative marking: 1/3 per wrong answer.
  2. CBT 2: Advanced test split into Part A (100 questions, 90 minutes) and Part B (75 trade-specific questions, 60 minutes).
  3. CBAT: Mandatory for ALP candidates; requires 42+ marks in each test battery.
  4. Document Verification: Original certificates and Aadhaar validation.
  5. Medical Examination: Ensure fitness standards (A-1) for railway operations.
